Two volumes relating to Brigham Young University football and basketball. Volume one includes quotes from members of the 1979 football team; images of old Cougar Stadium, the team, and individual players; caricatures and reproductions of photos of coaches LaVell Edwards, Norm Chow, Dick Felt, Garth Hall, Dave Kragthorpe, Mel Jay Olson, Tom Ramage, Doug Scovil, and Fred Whittingham; and newspaper clippings. Volume two includes images of the 1980-81 BYU basketball team, fans, players, university president Jeffrey R. Holland, and Cosmo (BYU mascot); plus newspaper clippings.

Plans for the David O. McKay building began in 1952 after an evaluation by the Brigham Young University College of Education concluded that the existing building for the College of Education were no longer meeting the growing needs of the program. Plans were officially announced in February of 1954 with the completion deadline being set for December of the same year.
